Artist statement

My artistic practice explores identity, belonging, and the shifting boundaries between the individual and the collective. Rooted in my experience of migration, my work reflects on how changes in cultural and social environments reshape our sense of self.
I explore these questions through hybrid figures inhabiting a liminal space between reality and fantasy. Drawing on myths and fairy tales, these figures exist where the boundaries between human and animal, conscious and unconscious, remain unstable.
Human bodies with rabbit heads appear both vulnerable and unsettling. Their ambiguous relationships evoke a sense of both discomfort and security, revealing the tension between individuality and belonging.
Working primarily with oil and acrylic, I create images that move between realism and surrealism, intertwining memory, desire, and myth. Through these imagined worlds, I invite reflection on what shapes us as individuals and as part of a larger collective.
